I know that Pyro has a HEATING device that does not require fire, If it gets cool Friday night at the campout, I wonder if he'll use it? |

It did get pretty chilly last year.
Since we're only about 7 miles from the coast, it'll probably get just a little chilly again this year so Im hoping Pyro brings his New 'Heater" so we can test it out. |

As much as I'd like to, I won't bring it to this venue.
We are only on our second event here, they have their rules and I really don't want to jeopardize the good relationship we have with the park rangers. Already they are allowing "some" camping as they have been very accomodating with us. They were pleased and happy with our "handling" of the show last year which was their first even of that type also. I figured as our relationship builds to get more, say, "trustworthy", they'll allow at least our quasi-official Strictly Vintage 2s off the ground fire pit. Again, that's "eventually", for I think it is too soon for us to push that envelope.
That said, I have a very strong feeling that this show is going to be great with huge attendance and hell, the weather is on our side already. It calls for 85 degrees throughout the weekend and with that ocean breeze it just can't get any better than that! Woooo-freaking-hoooooo!!!! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

In your flyer it doesn't say what time the gates open for swappers. Coming from Az and want to know what time to show up. THanks S. |

it says around 9:00 am for general admission so that would make it around 6:30 to 7:00 am for swappers i believe but dont quote me on that.... _________________ Visit Http://keepitstock.com

Coming home from Oceanside yesterday we took the back roads and we drove right by the show/campsite and saw the SV2's bus with the big logo parked were the camping was taking place. Looked like fun, wanted to stop by and say hi but the kids were ready to hit the pillow especially the newborn he was a little cranky but now im ready to go back and do some shopping see what I find. |

You missed a damned good show. It' may not be the biggest, but it's one of the best. The location, and laid-back atmosphere, can't be beat. _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story

Well, what can I say other than the obvious relief that it is over and the feeling of exhaustion from all the work of putting it all together. :changes:
IMHO, it was a really great show, enjoyed by just about everyone there including the volunteering "seniors" helping out the park rangers to do the Adobe House tours. The weather just could not be any better with plenty of sunshine coupled with a fine ocean breeze. With the overall layout much improved over last year's set up, the participants had ample room to "show" their rides. There were over twentysomething or other swapers with plenty of room to lay out their wares. Master "key maker" Gabriel was there and I personally took advantage of my "usual" five minute brake to tour the field making sure to stop and get me a set of VW logoed keys! Wooohooo! The t-shirt artwork was just fabulous and as usual we sold out of a particular size, the "extra large" (or sinlge X) but for those who missed out on the show and still would like a collector's edition 10th year anniversary shirt, we still have some other sizes available including for the "first time", tank tops!
Don't know how we are going to top this one next year but for the raffle we had lots of donations from our club members themselves with "one of's" items, a "Hot Dog Fred's" westy folding ladder, and of course our sponsor's "goodies" which included a tranny center, a long block BUT not just a long block mind you, an 1835cc long block!!! And last but not least, a "turn key'N'drive away" project '69 fatchick (alright, bay window ) bus which, believe it or leave it, our very own Quilen from the Central Coast Chapter won!!!
Yes we are all very tired of all the work done to put on this great show but all we need is a brake, some rest, and recharge the batteries, and review this one to see how can it be improved next year.
First thanks go to all the volunteers who helped out in the layout, campout, manning of the gate, food, and overall order of things throughout the day. Without them it definitely would not have been enjoyed as much. Secondly but just as important, thanks to all the show participants for bringing their rides to "share" them with everyone. There'd just not be a show without YOU! And last but not least, our sponsors who also help in finacing this great event. Remember to say "thank you" for sponsoring the show when you go to their shops to buy parts and services. That way they will keep coming back to sponsor another show for you to show your ride!
Again, thank you all and hope you enjoyed this show as much as we did! See you again next year!?! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

All the crew of SV2's @ Familinfest #10,
The show was awsome The weather was perfect You guys(&gals) really put on a great show. The atmosphere and the environment really make it enjoyable to hang out at a VW show. As I cruised back up the coast( yeah, I drove it ) i reminised about the good old times @ Familinfest #10. People were cool , the mafia was out in force , King Everett even graced his presence and blessed the "Best Of Show" bus , lots of coll vw's of all kind to check out. Last of all, Special Thanks to SV2's and everybody that voted for Best of Show and Passenger Class . Winning stuff is cool but: meeting cool people, watching people enjoy 8years of work and a life savings to finish my bus, and just hangin out in the so cal sun .....is what makes going to the shows worth it. Once again, Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!............... _________________ "It is EASIER to customize a car then it is to RESTORE one"
