I have a 1951 on what has been identified as a 1954 pan/chassis. My question is "what the heck is this bracket?” It is on both sides, mounted to the body inner wheel housing. The picture you see is of the left side. The yellow wires are to my horn so you can get an idea of the proximity. Any ideas? See link below.

Are you refereing to the bracket with two holes ? two plates seperated by short little tubes ? If so -

Looks like a horn bracket, it is practically identical to the one on my WW2 Jeep - made by Sparticus horn co NY.........? ?

A better pic would be helpful. Aim your camera at the bracket so it doesn't see the background. That way it will focus on the part.

I think they are brackets from a set of "fanfare" type horns. Although I am unfamiliar with exactly which horns they are for. It doesn't look like the Bosch "snail" horn bracket... but very similar.

check the details on these Fanfare horns... from a vendor here on Samba...
