When the pump crapped out were you driving? and did you run the car completely out of fuel? If so you may have sucked any debris in the bottom of the bowl into the main jet partially blocking it. or into the accell pump circuit.

going by your post I presume it is idling normal and falls on its face when you rev it?

look down the carb (engine not running)and pull the throttle lever and see if the accel pump is squirting a nice shot of fuel out the brass tube. if not debris may have gotten into the "feed hole" that fills the accel pump up.

if it squirts good but the engine still bogs/ does not gain enough RPM then the main jet could be partially or completely plugged up. get a small can/jar/paint top and pull the plug on the bowl and drain it, 1 to see if any red rusty debris or other stuff comes out with the fuel, 2 to pull the main jet( kinda tricky and in reality you should probably just take the carb off or at least the top, nice thing about a Ghia easy access into the top of the carb with it still bolted up) and check for blockage blow it out...

check those things out first and get back, it still could be something else but since you seem to have found it occured right after the fuel pump change I would start there. good luck!
