back to the original post. I think that a lot of times after people have restored their cars start adding accessories since they frequent the swaps and really have nothing left to restore. I agree any overaccessorized car is not my thing either. but as it was said before. To each there own.

Hey at least none of the cars posted are dracula/ rat rides.

My first VW, way back in 1990. Two tone was cool then. I think. Learned how to paint on that car. Turned out nice if I do say so myself. And I do.
Very Happy
BTW, That's the day out of the paint booth. Thus the oversprayed tires, crappy bumpers, and rubber plugs with no chrome on the passengers side.

car #1 is pretty choice but it needs to be slammed.

car #2 is rad, ive seen it at PIR before and its cool minus the tent- only thing i dont like.

car #3 is fake, you can totally tell, besides that it looks like a sweet car if it was slammed.

Duuuude! You, like, totally missed the wink at the end, didn't you?

That was originally posted in RAMVA on April 1, 1998. That date ring a bell? Wink

Yeah, the guy that "restored" it got tired of buying six tires at a time anyway, so he got rid of the extra axle to make it look just like a regular ol' '57. Wink

Didn't mean to hijack the thread, sorry. I have been lurking for about a year, yes. I have been going between thesamba and Franklin's VW werks and all I hear is criticism and "MY SHIT'S GREAT, YOUR SHIT STINKS" mentality. I finally had to say something. So what gives anyone the right to shit on anyone else? Didn't mean to sound "tough guy", but your attitude is not typically the one of VW owners.

I'm wondering, the lower your ride, the lower your I.Q.? They seem to work together/synonymously, apparently.

The lower your ride the lower your I.Q? Dude, you don’t know me and you have no clue how much schooling I went through, and my ride is low. Plus you are insulting a lot of people here on this board. And to tell you the truth, I personally think that an educated person would not say something as stupid as what you wrote. Nowhere on Franklins board have I ever seen "'MY SHIT'S GREAT, YOUR SHIT STINKS' mentality." And everything that you read on Franklins site where we are tossing crap at one another...its all fun in games buddy. Most of us personally know each other. Its the ones like you that feel left out so you get all pissy and rant about it. Its ok. If you knew us, you would understand.
