got the cam and started getting the stuff together for the engine, but progress is slow everything is being pushed to the left for the 78 bus re-assembly. car is looking better every month as Airkooled Kustoms does their thing . the all new wiring harness, fuse panel and every electrical thingy is in, got the paint for the interior parts and window seals.
i'm hope i can get the car back by spring and finish assembling it with my father.
the only thing i still need for the car is a front bumper, and stock style interior (upholstry, panels and knobs). _________________ The Whingnut

HELL YES! My Car was picked up Sunday from AirKooled Kustoms of Hazel Green by my Father. It has made the trip from Hazel Green to Leoma Tn and is going into storage for my father and I to finish. The goal is to finish the car this year and i will be flying down from Groton CT to do any last minute stuff and My Dad and i are driving up from Leoma Tn to Groton 1,079 miles. It should be a really cool ride. Pictures will be posted as progress is made.
Thanks again to AKK for everything. _________________ The Whingnut

Well got some stuff together to make the replacement engine pillows from nomex covers that where too tall for me (cut out the legs), fire retardant foam. My wife sewed them up by hand and they look really good, done up with a double running stitch (i'm not sure what that is) looks Great to me.
i got the foam from
http://www.foamorder.com/frfoam.html
foam triangles custom cut 3" thick, 7.5" short leg & 9" long leg
Nomex coveralls i had a set of coveralls to tall for me so we used the excess leg fabric.
the build
the old one and new one

Hail punched through the shop roof and busted some boards which dropped on my new paint & im told creased the car from exhaust port to decklid. I haven't seen the damage & will post pics when i get them. Insurance is involved and im waiting for them take a look at it. _________________ The Whingnut

VW's are cars. Cars are not meant to leak oil. So if your VW leaks I think you should fix it. Be like me and have no leaks |
