Ok I have a hook on a girl that needs to get rid of a VW Fox, it needs some work, but the price is right at $250.00. It has 137,000 miles, give or take a few. The interior is in good shape, and all I owuld use it for is as a winter/daily driver. The only bad things are that it doesnt have a reverse, the clear coat and paint is flaking of, the exhaust is hel up by a Bungie strap, thanks to me for that quick solution
Ok i know that erebuni Corp. made a Body kit for these cars, and I would like to inquire about getting one, they hav not made them for a couple of years, and I was hoping some one might have some info on one.
Oh and it needs the correct hubcaps, cuase the ones on there now are but ugly.
Ok and pics of a fox with that Body Kit on it would be awasome. Thanks -- Tim _________________ Timmaay

Make sure all the linkages are hooked up for the tranny, if thats all there, get a used one -around $100-150 in the N.E., not to hard to r&r a trans on a Fox. As far as exhaust, check to see if the rubber donuts that help hang the exhaust are still there and/or the hooks on the pipes & mufflers too, if thats not it, buy new.
As far as that body after market stuff, why bother putting on that stuff on a winter beater, save your $$ for more important things.......... _________________ Tom

My brother had a Foxand it was thebiggest piece of crap I've ever seen.. It would stall any time you took a left turn with the headlights on and using the turn signal. 4 dealers, three VW specialty shopsand about a hundred hours looking for a short or bad relay or something and nothing. He drove for 3 years without using a left turn signal. Then the heater core exploded on him and sprayed scalding hot coolant on bare legs at 2:30 in the morning. He totalled it and it was the best thing that ever happened, VW actually assumed responsibility and bought the car back, probably fearing a major lawsuit. _________________ 71 LWB Manx style dunebuggy

| VW still honors the fox heater core recall. I got my 89 Fox three years ago and they replaced the heater core at no charge, and didn't question me what-so-ever. Other than that both of my foxes run like tanks and don't owe me a dime. R & R the tranny and fix the exhaust, you'll have a decent car after that. |

The version I heard was from a plastic surgeon my aunt worked for; he said, "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit."
I agree.....buying a body kit for a beater car is like buying an engagement ring for a prostitute. Hubcaps look cheesy with a body kit anyway. Get it, beat on it, keep it alive as long as you can, and count yourself lucky if you can sell it when you're done with it. I had $200 tied up in my '89 Fox wagon, and never got the time to diagnosis the problem it allegedly had when I bought it(PO said blown head gasket). I wound up giving it away to a buddy who needed it for parts. He asked me the week before my wedding, 'whatcha want for the Fox?' I said I wanted it gone when I got home. _________________ Organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff

they do have VERY SELECTIVE recalls... if your car has a recall by LAW they have to honor that recall... now it could have already been done or yours might not have been covered...
I have 3 87 cabriolets... this was one of the years covered under the "gas tank has high probablity of imploding" recalls... none of them fell in that category (actually even searched the second vin on my car that has two vins, so make that four)... and that's a pretty dangerouis and expensive thing! |
