I have a 82 rabbit deizel body that I'm going to drop a 16v in. But the problem of crappy wiring from a previous owner has stalled the works. Let me explain what I have first. The shell being an 82 rabbit, engine/tranny came from a Scirocco 16v. The wiring harness is believed to be from the same rocco with the addition of the harness from the original swapped donor car (82 rabbit cabby) I bought. It seems as though the person that put this car together merged the harness together to create "one big mess" of wires.

Can someone please help me here? I'm not a wiring pro so if you could point me in the right direction to either find a new/used one or even a place that could make me a new one w/ factory specs or better, that would be great!!!

Thanx!!!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you would probably get a better response on this one over at the vortex.

If the Rabbit's original harness is messed up, you are better off starting over. My boss dropped a 2.0L 16v into a '92 Cabriolet(Rabbit) a few years back, and he had bought the car after an engine fire. He grabbed a complete wiring harness out of a 16v Scirocco, and it made the swap pretty much 'plug & play.'
