I lost interest I suppose.. The first year of ownership I busted my balls on it and putting all kinds of hours into it and think I just burnt myself out. This last year I've done practically nothing with it. I got it registered about a month ago in hoped that it would motivate me to get some use out of it, but it didn't. I drove it once and it went back to its parking spot. I think I enjoy the hunt and the build more than actually utilizing it. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, and for being as low as it is, it drives incredibly smooth.
It just sold this morning. The new owner showed appreciation for the bumps and bruises the bus has and has led me to believe he will keep it as such.
This is the car I've held onto the longest though, 2 years. Haha
I'll be back one day when I hunt down another |
Your son will look at your avatar picture some day in the future and curse you for letting it go and then we'll see a new thread called "Looking to find my old man's bus, does anyone know where it is?" _________________ '67 Beetle

This '64 Sundial that is in my possession for over 10 years is still going strong. Attached are some photos from the last camping trips we have done. After a lot of different wheels (17" Fuchs, 15" Cosmics, etc.) it's now running on original 16" Porsche Fuchs with 195s and 225s, with 911 disc brakes and calipers up front, Airkewld BAD brakes in the rear. Custom trailer hitch to pull the slammed Airstream. Full camper interior in red leatherette and white piping, also in the Airstream. Up front there is a 4" narrowed and raised beam with custom trailing arms, massive tubs and notches. In the rear 3" stepped IRS arms, adjustable dampers with helper springs and massive tubs and notches as well. No airride.
