I'm trying to take pics every step of the way and document any snags I run into. I'll post a complete thread when I'm done, or add to the main narrowing a beam thread.

I worked with the center block last night. Didn't have to cut it open again, just kept working it back and forth. Should be fine now.

Maybe it was just weld splatter that you were working against.

Could be, plus it cooled off overnight. Maybe the heat from welding expanded it making it difficult to turn. But all's good now. I'll be installing the adjuster and doing the other tube in the next couple of days.
