He wanted to know if he has the right frames.
To me it seems as they are right.

Not yet fishbone in 1950 or?
More something like that.

Well, it has like a pattern, that's what I meant, not the 1948/49 stripes either......where did you get that sample?
I'm pretty sure by 1951 standard cars had Herringbone material, when was the cut off date???

Wrong seats ! Forget your fishbone. It started with zwitter!

No, sets are ok with little extra.
You can forget the compleat discussion about interieur.
Just pic it up here.
You can also leave the frames here at may the 1st and pic them up at HO13.

Thanks Marcus. It will probably not be until next year that I will do something about the seats. But delivering them to you at 1. Mai (2014), and then picking them up on a vw trip later in the year is a great idea
Maybe I need to "secure" the fabric now, if the supply is limited.
I will contact you by email.

Hi member, I´m written from sevilla, España. Recently I bought a Deluxe Model 1950 from Portugal in very good conditions, only need completed the interior's upholstery, carpets, etc.
But I have a questions, I have a problem.... the seats are welded with the floorpans.
anyone know how they are bolted to the floor?
they have 4 each seats or two "seat wing nuts" ?
thanks for all

A 1950 deluxe should have sliding seat rails, not studs and wing nuts. _________________ John Henry

Hi John Henry , thanks for your informations.
But then why sell a set of nuts for split models?
or is for bandoor bus?
I see your pics, I have the same rails. |

Deluxes had sliding rails (export deluxes anyway), Standards (into the 60s) had clamps and wingnuts. _________________ John Henry

Ok, time to get the thread back on track again
I got the car home to my garage a few weeks ago, and I have slowly started to look through the pile of parts and stuff.
I am also in the process of changing my transmission in my 1966 type2 + some other improvements, and once that is done, then I will start work on the standard.
The paint underneath the dust is REALLY nice - this is not making my decision about keeping the trim or welding the holes shut, any easier :-/
Leaning against bringing it 100% back to standard. Seems like the right thing to do. And since the body is so nicely painted, a respray should be quite easily done...

| Looks nice, I'd say if you've got most of the standard stuff to make it 100% original complete go for it. At the end of the day it's your car, do what makes you happy and enjoy it. |

@Westfalia1972: I can see that you are also from Denmark, but who's behind the Westfalia1972 username?
I would love to see some pictures of yours.
Thanks
Rasmus
Small update
Washed the whole car, and luckily it looks real nice behind the 15 years of dust.
Did a little VW-archeology on the fuel tank, and found the original grey color!
Also started finding a few std. parts to bring it back to standard

That inclouded chromed bumpers, hubcaps, headlight rings, hood and door handles, window cranks (but with black knob still), inner door openers and the horn face. |
The headlight rings for all models (both deluxe and standard) have all been chrome since 1947. |
