Ha, thanks Mike and Everett.
I actually ordered some WW safari seals to see how they compare to the Wolfgang. Wasn't completely happy with the Wolfgang. I'm hoping the WW have more of a lip and grab a little tighter. I'll be home both Friday and Saturday evening working if you want to come by.
Here's a shot of the cargo area. The headliner turned out nice. I sprayed the entire floor and lower walls with a sound deadening/sealer type material similar to a truck bed liner. Next up is carpet and panels. Seats have all been reupholstered as well.

| The headliner looks great! I'd be interested in checking out those WW safari seals. I've got some of Izz'ss we can compare also. Might check you out on the way to the Guido Fest Friday. |

Finally got the rack on.....
I can't decide if I like it better towards the back or centered. |

Looks Fantastic Andy!
Saw this Bus 15 years ago-ish at the BusBarn out in New Mexico.
Pardon my pic of my Photo-album page.
Then the next year again, but out in the lot.
Then again when it moved to Missouri 7-8 years ago.
And at Busses no Where Near the Arch '08.
You should be proud. Great job. Can't wait to see it out and about!
SeeYa. Ted.
My vote is the for rack centered. |

My advise is you dont need advise. Still cant believe your short rocker repair was so stellar you couldnt tell it was welded after ground down. Wondering what tecnique you used to grind that down sooo perfect. _________________ Waiting for santa to drop off funky green. I can wish can't I???? |

Thanks Ted...and thanks for sharing the pics. Sounds like you guys had a good time at the last Micros monthly gathering. I hope to make it to one soon.

I used a $10 harbor freight pneumatic angle die grinder with abrasive disks and just took my time. I never let it build up too much heat. Also hit it with a little air to keep it cool once in a while. Wish I would have kept track of how many hours I put into the metal work on the bus.....actually probably better off that I didn't. Lot's of hours. I appreciate the complement. |

Here's a few updated pictures of my interior. Pretty much finished on the inside for now.
Picked up my next project a few weeks ago... It's way worse off than my first. Major lower rust, but a complete bus.

| Great thread for a scared new welder like myself...just learned how to weld yesterday. When you installed the long rocker, how much of a gap is there between the old and new metal? |

| Do you have those little welder's helper clamps for joining butt welds? They kinda determine the thickness which looks to be 1/16". |

That's exactly what I used.....they will give you a nice even gap. |

Just started my first road trip. Left Troy, IL on Thursday and put in about 550 miles. Ended up in cheney, ks. Today another 450 and currently camping at Pueblo Lake state park in Colorado. Heading to Salida tomorrow for fibark to raft and then to Crested Butte on Sunday. Lots of pictures and details to follow..... |
