I need to just finish designing a new set, have them printed and get them available. I'm still trying to address the issue that the radius of the heart lens presents. I have some ideas, its just a matter of finding out if parts exist that will do what I want. I still plan to get them out there. Just no definite timeline as of today. Happy Veterans Day! I appreciate your service!

Good to hear from you Chip.. and as always.. Im sure the final product will be just awesome.. I was reading a thread where a fellow had just finished rebuilding his 1958 Sedan.. Within a week.. someone has smashed the shit out of the rear end.. The driver of the other car, mentioned he couldn't see his brake lights.. When I read that.. Chips LEDs popped in my head.. Hope to see them soon.. Take care..

Definite interest here from Down Under Chip!

Anybody have a photo of what a stock/typical flat lens looks like from the inside? I am working on this again, but am getting frustrated with the lens I have. It obliterates the LED light during pass through, the lens just seems too diffused to really do a great job with these lights. If I can get this resolved, there is a very good chance that I will have lights available in the very near future. Not a ton, but a couple dozen sets to start, any voltage, heart lights included.

Thanks! I did some searching as well. So far I've seen a few with diffusers and a few without. Are they still in most lights out there, or have they mostly disintegrated and been removed? I notice that the aftermarket lenses don't have them.

Good Evening Chip
Will these be on a printed circuit board? I would be looking at a 6 volt setup, I would want The flat lens to do the tail light and brake, and the heart to do just the brake. Could the flat lens leds be all twin intensity? so when you hit the brakes all the leds become full intensity instead of only a few of them!

Have you ever thought about using phillips luxeon rebel chips? But then there would be cooling issues.

Update time...
As of 5 minutes ago PCB have been ordered. I am doing a small run initially and if interest is there I'll do more.
The lights will function a lot like the last ones I posted on here a couple years ago, no two heart owners can agree on what you want them to do, so they will be flexible Very Happy They will be good for any voltage, both lights have the dual circuit function, all LEDs will be lit, and then get brighter for the second circuit. Dual circuit function is owner adjustable, using removable jumpers. If you really want to get crazy you could add an independent turn signal into the mix as well, since none of your cars came with blinking turn signals. I built them with the intention of the brake and turns sharing a circuit, like snowflake cars do. This can be done with in your early cars with a little added hardware, much like 62-76 folks do when converting to snowflakes.
The only issue that you guys will have is mounting them. I do not have brackets made up for them yet. They have mounting holes and will have nuts attached to the boards to mount them with, that is the best I can do for now. Rolling Eyes
I should have them in hand in a few weeks. I'll get a pair built and get photos up as soon as I can.

Chip is the man! I bought a set of his lights for my 57. Quality kit and excellent customer service. Now I'm waiting for him to make a kit for later beetles (64)...

Sorry for the long time between posts. Just trying to enjoy the last few days of summer with the family!

On to business...
Here are a couple photos of them lit, followed by the power supplies for each part.

The big one is the one that decides which light performs what function. Right now, if tied together, the lights perform as a dual filament setup, which when used with a trailer light converter can get you a third function as well. Meaning that the lights are designed to both perform brake and running light functions or any combo between, with the two lights performing these functions, trailer light converter allows you to take one of these circuits and make it perform 2 functions. 56-61 cars do this, they use the same circuit for brake and turn. BUT if a Separate turn signal is wanted/needed, the heart can be separated from the flat lens, and controlled directly by the vehicle. It does not need to be powered by the flat lens, it can just be controlled by it if wanted. Make sense?

Egg guys, I can accommodate. I'll have to break up sets, but I can deal with that.

Chip, my man, you are an artist.
I've got a couple of your snowflake sets, (6V & 12V) and drive with confidence knowing the guy behind me can see when I'm braking or turning.
