I was cruising down the freeway a couple days ago and spotted a "nice" looking bus in a lil storage yard. I got off the freeway to have a lil looksy and noticed it was a panel van with windows cut in. Had a paint job similar to some of the busses in this thread. It wore a half roof rack and some kind of "cool" looking headlights.
I inquired about the bus and was told that Modello owned it and used it for promo gigs. It looked as if the bus had been parked for a while so I asked if the promo was still going on and was told yes............ |

I just read through this thread and have something to say to everyone that is complaining and mad at those who sold their buses. Instead of wasting your energy here, why can't we all put it to good use and email pacifico asking them to not crush them when they are done with the promo. We could email asking them to auction them off afterwards (maybe charity money ) so they are saved! |

I didn't have my phone or camera with me, but my buddy did (phone) I made him take some pics for me. I'll post them as soon as he emails them to me.

My bus!!!!
I was just reminiscing about my old '62 double door panel, and regretting that I sold it. I knew it ended up as one of the Pacifico vans, but had never seen a picture of it. A little late-night googling turned this up!! Thanks, whoever posted this.
As much as we enjoy the "modernity" of our '86 Westy, I have always regretted selling the '62. If I could somehow find it, I would buy it back!
They didn't change anything but the paint on it. It had a low-mileage 1776 DP, (and at one time, 6 Soundstream amplifiers and 4 subwoofers). It was my daily driver for nearly 10 years.
Found more pictures here:

Apprently, they named it"Gigi" and gave it the "Rooster Alarm Clock " paint job.

I'm writing a story about two of these buses that I came across at a car show. Does anyone know what period of time this bus project happened?
Also, I noticed two of the people here were owners of the buses and sold them to Pacifico. If you have a moment, I would appreciate your input. In either case you can contact me via the Curbside Car Show Calendar.
Thank you in advance. |
