The seats are getting wrapped in leather w/ jell packs. I've been driving it around houston and they are actually pretty comfortable. |

I did mine that way too as i really wanted them to look like they had always been that way, although mine are identical to yours i just wish they were even half as tidy, top work dude. Im gonna do rear tubs in a similar way, as un-noticable as possible. May need you to come over and weld them though so they look neater than my fronts haha |

It must suck to live in a place where your so limited. This was an old Singlecab that probably would have been sent to the crusher. I brought it hack to life. I have no plans of ever selling it, therefore I will be sitting and welding whatever comes to mind on it and when I die it's in my will for it to be burned to the ground.  |

You've raised your beam by 2" so your going to need taller tubs to stop it running no??
Ive found my tubs at 30mm with a narrowed shock position beam and notched chassis nothing rubs at all. None of the guys that have bought them have ever complained their not tall enough. Obv if someone who had raised the beam wanted a set they prob wouldn't be tall enough at 30mm.

30mm tub raise isnt going to give you much tyre clearance why bother under 50mm? |

I'm 5'8" and I have too much room. A friend came over and he is 6'4" and he has two inches before he touches the roof and this is in a Singlecab. |

Main reason I when with the 2" beam raise was the keep the correct suspension geometry when lowering the bus. (no adjusters just flipped spindles) 50mm tubs should be plenty for my ride as I 'll be running 50 profile tyres too. _________________ https://www.instagram.com/demop_vw_garage/

To ad to Nikos post raising the beam 2" doesn't mean that the bus is lower than a stock location beam, to an extent. If it was on air ride a stock location beam would hit the ground before the bumper. Like he said it just helps keep the geometry a little closer to original because as you lower VWs the caster angle gets shot.
But so many factors can change, wheel size, tire size ride height... And any combination. I had to make a set of 3" tubs even though I felt they look too big but after doing the math of the 17" wheels, tires and ride height that's what the guy needed/wanted.
Once again I am just adding to the post.
Frankie I dig the SC, looks real nice. The tubs are crazy huge but I am sure they have to be for the wheels, what size are they? Also the tubs may look bigger because the surrounding metal is gone. I am sure it's a fun little ride it does look like it would be uncomfortable but I could see how they actually may feel fine.

Yes I'm on air and I am on 17x7 and 19x8.5. You have to remember that farmers had to drive tractors for hours at a time. The seats fit the shape of your butt making them even more comfortable. Right now the front suspension is my only limitation. I only have 8" travel. I'm working on a new setup that should give me 12". |

ok here's the deal...no matter what each person deems the 'best' or 'best looking' it is all relatively irrelevant and purely based on opinions. Sure there are different levels of craftsmanship and fabrication execution but it all boils down to each individual application and what each owner is trying to achieve. Do you want to lay frame rails? then cut the fuck out of the tubs and build new ones..do you want to just lay a little low and have more clearance for suspension deflection? ok raise the stock tubs a couple inches. Every one here is different and ever single bus is different, please stop comparing the size of the tubs and focus on the quality of the workmanship...anything aside from that is case by case.
here are my big "lay frame rails" tubs that worked perfectly. this bus laid the frame rails hard and I could still drive it as a 6'0" person. If someone doubt this then ask all the folks who saw this bus at shows

Looks good, I'd like to see how the piece that joins the floor area and curved area look in this tub. Not bad though!
