I believe the paint to be original. Although the outside is probably a little more faded than the inside.
I'm thinking it's Pearl White with white interior. But the body paint looks darker than Pearl White in the interior.
Is Pearl white that much darker than white? It's to light to be light grey. At least per the paint chips in the tech section. Light grey looks almost tan.
I assume the interior is just plain old white or bright white.
So it's either light grey, pearl white or it's lotus white. But that was available (lotus white) until the following year of manufacture. This bug is a 1965.

| Mine is a 67 Lotus white and it is more of a tan color than a white and it has black interior if that helps you eliminate a color |

That doesn't look white to me at all- especially the interior shot in contrast to the unoriginal panels. That is a Panama Beige 1965, final answer. _________________

How come "Panama Beige" does not come up in the paint section on here? I'll have to google that color. Much obliged. |

Thanks bud. I was just looking on the main page. Not all of the brochures. Not that I would have made the match. That brochure is really green tinted.
Thanks for all the help guys. Now who wants to sell me their 66' sunroof sedan in panama beige with a white interior? |

Moab is this another car you are looking at? Looks nice.
The color is some sorta beige, based on the photo. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

It was. I turned it down. They wanted $7000 for it. And I really want a sunroof. I think I can get one with a sunroof for that much. If I look hard enough. Probably not that awesome color combination. But hopefully something close. |

| From the shot provided, I would also suggest it may be Fontana Grey. My 65' is painted Fontana Grey and looks like yours in the light as well. The pictures on here usually appear to be more of a grey, but I have noticed in the the sunlight it looks like yours. |
