soooo.... this is my chassis plate; supposed to be a 1969 squareback.

this looks be a type1 plate but it looks original to the car.

Am I reading the vin decoder wrong or am I right to be worried that this plate has been put on my car maliciously?

Thanks for any input...Tim

Something is very wrong. What's the number on the tunnel under the rear seat?

tunnel # is 369039186, was getting that when you replied; weird; bad thing is title has the 119# so this is concerning to say the least.

Some PO replaced the VIN plate. Since it is titled that way I am not sure you want to change anything.

Front data plate is from a '69 Beetle. 119= '69 beetle, 369= '69 Squareback.

Houston... we have a problem.

Not sure if you can do it, but you may want to do a search at the DMV on that tunnel number. You could be in for some interesting times.
