|
|
I picked up a frame today and man is it short. It fit in the box of a shortbed pickup with the tailgate up. Can't find anything like it anywhere. It's tack welded together and looks to be missing some supports, but it's a start. Just wondering if anyone has seen anything like it. I'll get some better pics soon. Thanks

Don't know what/whose make it is, but, with a few supports, and a little time/effort, that could be a very fun ride! _________________ He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. Luke 22:36

That thing looks awesome! It has some awesome lines. The lack of roof rails actually is pretty sweet, makes it look like some hot convertible. _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295

I'm definitely diggin it. Have 2 projects now. This and a fiberglass buggy. One will be raised one will be lowered, not sure which yet. Do you think I could run it without a top rollcage? If I could keep it topless that would be awesome. Wish I knew who built it. It has some more tubing that is cut, bent and labeled, but I don't know where they go......yet. _________________ 1975 Baja Bug

That's what I was thinking to. It would be hard to get in and out of a lifted fiberglass buggy without scratching up the paint. This frame came with a new adjustable lifted ball joint beam (spindle to spindle), 3 sets of torsion bars, steering box, tie rods, 3 complete axles/cv's, 3 transmissions (all bug IRS), floor and seat belt mounting tabs and some other goodies for $450. I have some extra thing spindles/arms to throw on it, but the rear is setup for a swing axle. Looks like I'm in the market for an IRS housing shortly. Off to the VW boneyard this week hopefully. _________________ 1975 Baja Bug

Very cool looking. I am picturing topless, but lowered, kinda like old school racers. Either way, it should be a fun project. _________________ rant _ classified ads with out pics are almost worthless |

Almost looks like it was the framework for a kit car? Not sure but its cool! That would be great for a street rail. |

Looks like this one is on the back burner for a bit. My better half told me the fiberglass buggy gets finished first. "Then we can all ride in it." she says. We'll see what happens. I might accidentally order some wrong parts and put them both together. _________________ 1975 Baja Bug
