| If any of you Sea Blue owners need some papyrus white vinyl inserts for your door panels please contact me. I salvaged some from a bus many years ago and it has been collecting dust ever since. It needs a new home. |

In my neck of the woods i can buy 3 different brands of Sea Blue, so i got the paint shop to mix up a sample of each. This is on my 65 microbus wheel arch...the pic might not reproduce that well, but the Deltron is pretty darn close, so that's what i'll be using....
Was supposed to put this in the Sea Blue Nerds thread, sorry |

Heres some pictures of the go blue white that Im trying to bring back on my 65 standard. You can tell a difference in the white and blue white. It doesn't look to blue in the picture, but in person its pretty obvious! Cameras just don't do this color justice.

Did standards use a sea blue emblem or a silver white emblem? Seems like I've seen them both ways. _________________ EMPI Power Rules! |

Depending on whether you hold a Blauweiss sample up to Turkis or Sea Blue., you'll have complementary effects towards the blues and greens in the white. It's absolutely false that white sprayed OVER any other color will show through unless you're looking at old faded patina. It's complimentary, nothing else. The factory (yep, even then) just like today, still sprays full-coverage
I painted a 63 Ghia to the original two tone in Blue white and Sea Blue and though how nice the blue tint to the white was... Then when I did a Bus in Turkis and Blue White just after I noticed how green it looked. _________________ The best things in life aren't Things

Older thread but I like it.
Since the original question was about blue white here is a good picture of my dash that seemed to capture the color well.
It shows the contrast nicely between the dash and the steering wheel / steering column nicely.
When dirty or faded it definitely had a whiter appearance, here is a side by side comparison of my roof.
This was after cleaning but the passenger side was compounded in this pic but not yet polished. You can definitely see that the blue tint started to show through after a little bit of effort.
In this pic you can see how the light affects it and definitely affects how it photographs. The front of the bus is closest the open garage door and appears washed out and bright white but behind the drivers door you can see the blue.

Here are a few I took of my bus along with a stock height twin. Both busses have OG paint. Don's stock height is much nicer than mine. 2 survivors.

Has anyone here recently painted using the blue white color? Was wondering which paint code you used as I am in the process of painting my bus but am having trouble finding the l289 paint code or equivalent _________________ 1963 Bus
