| Yes, lowered suspension will help, but the wheels are still too large for the overall look of the car. Fill the space with fat wall tires and you'll achieve the vintage look of the kit. |

I have never been a fan of that huge rim look The tires are like rubber bands and the car rides so stiff its not enjoyable. Plus you bend rims on the smallest pot hole
One thing that I have learned is that a decent sidewall is really my friend..and thats on any car I own. |

| Are those actually the wheels on it? In that side view those are sitting next to whatever is mounted on the car. |

dunno. Why would you take the photo like that? The headlights bother me, too.. no idea where they came from, but they don't belong on that car. |

If you're a Fast n Loud Gas Monkey Garage fan, the last show they put air rides and bigger rims on a Ford GT 40.
Intent is to retain the handling but be able to adjust.
They lowered it all the way and surprised how good it looks. They were surprised too, was a big risk.
It's their new build, couldn't find photos right now, still searching.
Great project photos, thanks, might try Jaguar hinges too, good one. |

Love the transformation - until those wheels appeared. I liked the look of the spoked BMW wheels on the Avenger. _________________ CMC '57 Porsche Speedster Replica and Dolphin boat tailed full pan VW MOD-T Street Buggy |

I thought the BMW wheels looked good and gave a nice little nod to the unique base. _________________

Hi Moran4x4, I am now making the headlight covers for FiberFab Jamaicans (and the Banshee/Caribee). The plastic is crack proof and I'm asking $80/pair If you (or anyone) could use a set, you can email me at: [email protected] or better yet, give me a call anytime at: 816-286-6982 to talk about the covers.
Thanks,
Mark Clapp

SBD - they look a lot like vintage Ronal R9. There were a few manufacturers of similar looking wheels back in the 70's, but I think the Ronal R9s were the most available in the US? One of my favorite design wheels! _________________ 70's vintage Deserter GS buggy - undergoing transformation to Super GS! |
