|
|
Just to let anyone in the Calgary AB area know there is a vanagon single cab at Bucks. Pretty stripped out before it showed up. Just hit the yard. Has box sides and tailgate still for sure. I did not own it, nor have I taken any parts from it. I just wanted to let you guys know about it and I hope it can help someone out. I'll try to post pics shortly.

Gates and treasure chest doors! Rear window!
Also, hard to tell, but maybe a 16"? Looks like all the running gear is already gone though. _________________ Currently:

Wish it was closer, I'd buy the entire thing and revive it. _________________ 1986 Canadian Syncro Westy TDI - 1989 Syncro Single Cab - 2001 Audi S4 - 1981 VW Caddy ABA - 1980 VW Caddy EV - 1973 VW T-181 |

Yeah, the body looks pretty solid, I wonder why the PO stripped out the running gear? Sad. _________________ Currently:

Yes it is sad to see. If I had any room at all I would have tried to get it out of there. It is pretty much just a shell, but i would love to sit on it until I could put it back together. |

Did you notice if it was a 2wd or 4wd? The fuel filler locations 2wd: front wheel arch; 4wd: just forward of the right rear wheel arch (on a truck) |

It was a Syncro. Looked like anything related to it being one is already gone. _________________ 1959 Bus

Interesting. I agree with Ms.Taboo it could be a 16. It certainly looks as though it had flares on it from the wheel well staining. If that's the case it certainly is worth saving. The Syncro 16 single cabs were the rarest of the 16s. |

That's really great, it would have been a real shame to see it go to waste. I know we need them in wrecking yards for parts but that was too rare to scrap. _________________ 1983 Diesel Vanagon Westfalia chassis with Subaru 2.2l |
