So....are you going to post a link to this company? Search for vintage LED gjves dozens of companies. One in Australia whose name is Vintageled.com.....and makes primarily residential lamps.

Indeed. I've been looking at various LED upgrades, but why is it "vintage"? My gauge cluster bulbs are just wedge type. I was just planning to buy some LEDs and swap.

Link?

Do not use LEDs for your idiot lights

I did LED tail lights and I love them. You know when you sit behind a new car and think to yourself "holy shit those are bright"? That's how bright mine, almost, are.

You can buy LED's with virtually any wattage dim to bright...and you can buy dimmable LED's. Should be no issue with using them for any idiit light except the alternator/generator light which requires the voltage drop across the filament to work with the alternator. Ray

I don't think you can directly use LED's for your turn signal bulbs unless there truly is a "vintage" LED replacement that has a shunt added to keep the wattage in the original range so that the flasher will work. Could probably figure out how to use a heavy duty flasher if such is not available. There was a thread a year or so ago talking about how to use LEDs for the turn signals, didn't follow it but it would likely be worth a search.

You could definitely up the light output of the other bulbs in the tail light units when using LEDs as the LEDs aren't going to put out anywhere near the heat as as do incandescent bulbs, so melting or otherwise degrading the housing and lens would not be an issue.

I have bought a lot of bulbs for around the house from these people. Know that they have automotive bulbs but don't know how much of a selection.

And...I would choose carefully. Although LED beadlights are already a production reality.....the spectrum, reflector design and type are critical quality components. Dont confuse bright.....lumens.....with the sbility to broadcast a beam properly over distance. There is some junk out there. Ray

I have looked at the GoWesty LED kits, for my Vanagon Westfalia. It comes with a flasher relay for compatibility.

....Something I've done to brighten up my existing early bay tail light fixtures is putting metal flue tape inside the housing where the old reflectors are worn. It amps up the light output.

There is another post on this subject. The headlights are for sale in the classifieds. I would imagine someone is running these. The vendor should shed some light Laughing

Headlights look cool, kinda like my Hella H4's on my '70.
