Hello Everyone. Does anyone have or know where I can find a chassis diagram and or measurements for a 73 Bus? I have searched Samba and the web for hours and the only reference was one by Ratwell to a dead link in the Netherlands. There are lots of Splity and Beetle diagrams and tables out there but none for this one. Would certainly help on project Phoenix. I could measure from a similar bus, but then not sure if that one is accurate. Not in Bentley either. Thanks

How cool is that. Must be for 1973 and later. If I understand it right, "datum" is a measuring point.
Thank you

Cool indeed!, some of those holes under there don't look like they are meant to be drains, I always figured they were for the assembly jigs, suspicions confirmed. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Just my little share to the baywindow forum. I'm reading the forum for more than 2 years now and you folks are ever so kind and helpful to each other.
The title of the data sheet says "1968-79" witch is obviously wrong, if you look at the fromt frame. But I was happy to find a baywindow sheet among the 10k+ Data sheets that came with our new stretching bench (is this the correct term? Such a thingy you use to straighten crashed cars.).
Greetings

Saved that data sheet to my collection ... Frame Straightening bench could also be the term I believe ...

Lookinng for crossmember spacing on T2 bay window (1969). Replacing front crossmember and want to validate my measurements.
Like this but for bay
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/split_bus_dimensions.php
Looked at diagram above and frankly do not understand the longitude measurements.

Thank you! I've been looking for this. Now if I can find diagrams of the differences between the front end of my '71 bay and the later Bays.

There are stampings all over VW chassis parts that serve no other purpose than to be reference points for frame assembly. There was something in the Samba archives with instructions and diagrams for frame and chassis repair.
