Bob where did you get the jack that you use for the motor? i work on a lot of Beetles and that would be much better than just using a normal floor jack

It is a Motorcycle lift jack from Northern Tool and Equipment.

Works the best of any jack I have found for our VWs.

I just came across this thread. I'm loving the progress so far! I've always liked the Marina Blue as well.

Hello DessertBob, still out there, well, your photos of your Super Summed it up for what mine went through in its transition......

I finally got some wheels and all worked out so dove in, and when this thread popped up I saw your progress so wanted to show mine, basically, same thing, just Boxster Wheels here that are 16 X 6 ET 50 and 16 X 7 ET 40, or something like that, maybe ET 51 and ET 41, but yea, have to check the wheel, damn thing has been together now for a year this month, logged like 240 miles on her last weekend with a Kad/Bugpack plus Sump 1600 that I resealed. On the horizon is drive & power train, so, few shots of mine for fun....

Oh, just to make a note, yea, daily here and thank it should work out fine, what is your take on your set-up, any issues arising?

Thanks for the thread...... RB

Update. This is how my car looks now. Added Dual Dell 36 DRLA Carbs, Pertronix III Ignitor Ignition. Runs Great and handles awesome. Now I need to upgrade the seats. Upgraded the interior with a Pioneer MP3 Stereo and gauges.

Is this a serious car show or can one bring a "normal" condition car and not be embarrassed?

Your car looks great and will fit right in. There are some nice cars and then there are some ratty ass looking patina's too. I like them all, even the rust buckets. Not too many German Lookers besides mine though. I like the vibe from VW people the most. There should be plenty of OG parts if you need anything.

If you decide to go let me know and I'll buy you a Beer.
