For the last 1500 miles this thing has been amazing, great power and consistent performance. You all know me by know that I cant leave things alone. so I decided to build all new custom cabinets with a fridge and a/c unit. I will get into the power for this later. I did a lot of calculations and feel that this will do very well.

I know that I finished the bus.... but is it really ever finished. I pulled the original Porsche 944 seats and sent them out for some new handmade upholstery.

I pulled all the interior back out to update it and make it more functional for a modern camper. This will include an entertainment system, air conditioning. Pure sine clean power for all your electronics, and dim-able LED lighting.
first is to finish the ac unit bracket and mount the new cabinet. This is important because it needs to line up with bracket.

How are you planning on preventing rain from getting in the cab with that big old scoop? Interesting AC monster you got going on. That will chill you down for sure.

I figure that I will get some water in the scoop area. I have planned on it dripping into a fiberglass funnel set up that I am gong to make once the unit is in place. It will then go into a tube and drain out into the wheel well area. I am sure I will need to tweek it once installed. For me thats the fun of a project like this

its been a while since I posted so I figured I would put up some photos. The A/C system is almost done. I only have a couple of items left to spar varnish on the interior, I am really happy with this build, I have put over 1600 miles on it and I have to say its totally fantastic.

this is the unit bolts to the ceiling, I used bass baffles for the speakers and installed the blower motor to pass the cold air from the a/c units to the front of the bus.

when making all new cabinets I also decided to make the bed base. I used all the metal from the donor and used all new wood

now for the interior cabinets. getting all the cabinets just right was a chore. after much install and removing several times the fit great, I predrilled the holes for the electrical and it helped a lot once i ran the lines. I used and outlet for the fridge and install a switch for the ac to isolate it during driving. this was the fridge will run all the time keeping the grub chilled. I liked the idea of the spare tire just behind the drivers seat so I kept it there. I had some space left so I installed a pull out tall draw with soft close slides to help keep it closed during travel. When installing the invert-er I opted for a remote location power switch so I can hide the inverted under the seat.
