I found the following diagram in the archives but can't make out the writing. Anybody know where I can find this online?

Type 2 has a lot of diagrams.

If you are looking for wiring for a '71 - note that your diagram is for a 6 volt with single circuit brakes.

Thanks for the info. I had to purchase a new taillight assembly as the old one was falling apart. I got it yesterday and installed it.

I connected it up just as it was with the old assembley. Heres what happened.

The tailligh works.
The breaklight doesn't work
The turn signal flashed twice as fast as the other side does.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a bad ground. Get a voltage tester and hook it up to your brake wire and have someone or wedge down your brake line and make sure the key is flipped on. Work your way back from there. It could be your stop light switch on the master cylinder, how are your fuses and their contacts on the fuse panel.

The bay window bentley manual is a good one that has wiring diagrams in it as well. It is also not very expensive, check Ebarf.

Your buckets should also have a ground wire attached to them.
