Looking for a cool looking good quality/sturdy emergency brake handle and setup assembly for my Manx style buggy. Don't really like the flimsy feeling cheap EMPI one I have now. Any suggestions? |

The original handles were made by Hella in Germany. They were well made.
They're good to use as is, or plated or powder coated. Also, when I moved a shifter back on the tunnel, I've shortened an original handle by cutting it at a diagonal, removing a section and rewelding

Had cheap flimsy chrome repop when I rebuilt buggy... Didn't like it much... Went back to stock (Hella) brake lever and am happy... Might have one chromed or powder coated and make it a feature not something to try and hide..

You should look on Facebook, there's someone asking the same questions on at least three of the Manx groups there. |

I recently bought a chrome EMPI park brake handle for my Manx. What a flimsy POS! I went to a swap meet the following weekend and picked up a used German unit for about what I paid for the crappy EMPI.
Stick with the stock (German) handle / millions of Beetles can't be wrong _________________ 1967 Type 1 Sunroof
