Quite the contrary... You're thinking of M-701, the "hockey stick delete" option on Canadian-bound buses.... _________________ One-on-one tech help for your vintage Volkswagen:

I love this thread so I thought I'd share a shocking find in the 74 westy I picked up this past summer. Under the front carpet was a porno mag and the personal correspondence (of sexual nature) between a man and woman who did not match the name of the PO. The letters were typed out and a very grainy black and white photo of the lady was printed on one of the sheets. Fairly graphic in nature but comical none the less. It's been a while since I read them so I'll have to go back and pick out some of the good parts and post them (PG-13 only).
Also wanted to bring this thread to the top so that those who have not seen it can waste some time at work. _________________ '71 Transporter "June" (traded a nissan hardbody + some $) (daily)

1968 Time Capsule in my Tin-Top Westy tells a pretty rad little story.
I bought it from a guy in his 50s who's young (at the time) family grew up with it and it looks like before that it was owned by a college student at UCSB in the 70s.

Glad this thread bounced up again, reminds me I need to take pictures of some stuff I found yesterday.
I removed the glovebox to get at the wiring for the cigarette lighter and found the original dealer information and insurance card from 1977. The PO wasn't lying I guess, he drove it off the lot. _________________ -Ian

I found an old hooker under the back seat. She said she was from the Texas panhandle area but I don't believe her. Smells a little fishy if you ask me. _________________ 1975 Baywindow Riviera Camper

I've had my westy going on 8 years, and I've been through it pretty thoroughly but today I came across my FOURTH PO Hide-A-Key (with key included).
First was under the drivers side front fender, found by the mechanic doing the cert to change the ownership.
Second was in the engine compartment drivers side found when I was installing an auxiliary battery the second summer I owned it.
Third was also in the engine compartment but on the passenger side, found two (three?) years ago when the starting battery died.
Today's was inside the bus in the channel under the passenger seat where I store the jack and fire extinguisher (the brake fluid reservoir lives in the channel under the drivers seat) It was right at that back, I only found it cause I bought a new fire extinguisher that was a couple inches longer than the old one.
The bus just keeps on giving... _________________ -Ob. vehicle info....

I found a college ID from University of Santa Clara, California. I found the bus in NH, and Iโm from RI. The ID belonged to the original owner, who I found on Facebook and have been exchanging photos with.
Also found a nice Hot Wheels Car and an unsmoked Marlboro |

Yeah...thatโs after MOST of it was removed and tossed...this was what was in the cabinets. The bus was packed to the roof with junk. Thereโs a thread about to pop up here shortly...keep an eye out _________________ Stuart Zickefoose
