Another.... what is this ??? 56 euro ragtop

Alright here’s another thing I found while stripping down the oval.... it’s a deluxe euro 56 and I’ve found a few accessories on the car but this one I can’t figure out either. Anyone have any ideas ? Doesn’t look factory and looks like it might be a choke cable maybe ? But not sure why it’s through the fire wall.

Kinda reminds me of a choke cable (because of the winding on it)...

Old choke cable probably got frozen up at some point and maybe someone improvised a new location for it?

or possibly an engine temp sender wire but looks too heavy of a wire for that...
