The aftermarket round mirrors pretty much blow, unless someone has come out with any new quality ones.
I saw a bus the other day that had some rectangular mirros with the ball end that would work with stock arms.
Does anyone know where to get these?
Thanks!

This is what I use (below).

...the first set of these I got I bought at a Pep Boys, more recently I found them for $10- $13 each at someplace like O'Reilly's
(The Irish are world-renowned as great car mechanics?!?!??).

As I hope you can see from the photo, I use original-style clamps, but with an extra nut or two. Works great.

This link below is basically it (from Pep Boys), but with additional hardware you wouldn't need, for $18

https://www.pepboys.com/product/details/1223565/00968?quantity=1

On-line I've also seen ones which are the same, but instead of chrome backing, have kind of a glossy black finish instead (and no extra hardware) for $17:

...found exactly what I am currently using on Amazon ("Prime" no less) for $7.50:

https://www.amazon.com/CIPA-95117-Replacement-Head...F8H8JWQ6Q7

If you'd like, I can snap a couple detailed pictures this evening of how I am using the original clamps with this type.

Stock? No way.
Cheap? YES.
Usable? Also yes.

Nice, Mr. Cheese.
I love how those look. I have some of those commercial mirror arms that I want to use these with.
Thanks!

Of course you may go a different route entirely, but here's some close ups...
It looks like on my driver's side I am using my original clamp with a ball bearing, and on the passenger's side, I placed some kind of rounded threaded cap that is roughly the size of a ball bearing on the passrnger's side. That newer clamp is from Wolfsburg West.

I am running round mirrors from a Unimog. About $40 a set and a little bigger than a stock Bus mirror.

They come apart easy enough to send out to a chromer.

They fit stock arms without any issues.

I too like the look of those Unimog green mirrors. But I like the look of the stock unit a little more. Can anyone comment on the quality of the current Wolfsburg West reproduction of the stock round polished aluminum mirror ? I'm about to get those dumb vibrating elephant ear reproductions off my '67 Camper (been on there for over 34 years now) and put stock arms and those round mirror heads on (if they are any good?).

The question of the century (every few years for me).
Who's got the best round reproduction round mirrors these days. Laughing
I've had sooo many crap ones over the years.

Many folks have shared that the only way to go are the mirror heads machined in one piece- ball and all. If the ball mount is riveted, stamped or added to the mirror housing in any way- plan on sooner or later disappointment.
