I think the watermark answers your question.
In many European markets, the padded dash and highback seats were options.
It's probably a 1300 (or maybe a 1200?) for the U.K. market.

... found the pic on Google. Guess i'm a dummy as the water mark (to me) is just a water mark... not looking for speculations (I can do that)... i'm looking for a factual reply ... thanks though

Was neither speculating nor trying to be a smart ass. Just trying to help.
In any event just look for 1970's examples of the 1300 for the UK market. |

just have a look at the various non-us brochures in the "archives" section, stripped down versions were almost the norm in european countries for late bugs, esp. in its native Germany. _________________ cars:

If that picture is correct it looks like a late model beetle. I've never seen toggle switches on a Beetle of that year though. _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]

If you read through the ad for the car, its had an extensive restoration, and a few things have been changed from the original. There are a couple of mentions of leaving extra metal exposed on the interior, and if you look up the facebook page of the shop that did the paint job there are additional pictures, one showing the original paint color. |
