About to replace both fuel lines in my F.I. Vert (1977) - i got the car with one line hooked externally. the original line is cut very close to the chassis opening in the rear (see photo). will replace both of them anyway- no question about it.

my only problem is finding the front and rear grommets for the fuel lines to - they are not the same size although they have the same form (two holes - one for each line).

any idea where can i get them?

Never ever ever run it along in the cabin.

...why...? If it leaks turn off the car. Not like I would drive down the road for miles at a time with fuel spewing out of a line. I feel like "Never ever ever" is not warranted in this case.

I had three friends nearly incinerated by a ruptured thru cabin fuel line.

Fair enough.

Is the rear left side fuel line grommet oval or round? Your above pic looks more oval?

The carb fuel line grommets are round like in the below pic because they support a single fuel line on each side. Since the FI return line is separate from the flow line I imagined you would need two round grommets at the rear... maybe I'm mistaken.

Could you just use two front (oval) grommets?

Worse case... wrap the line in a length of rubber fuel hose where it passes thru the frame opening to protect it from vibrations.

This. A long piece of rubber hose slipped into place and held on the top end with a zip tie will be fine.
