I wasn't sure where to post this, so I figured a toy thread is as good a place as any...
With this being Toy Season, a few of us at work were just discussing some of our favorite childhood toys. Quite by surprise, I remembered Fischer-Price "Adventure People" for the first time in a very, very long time, which nobody had ever heard of. So naturally, I went to The Internets to find photos.
While this isn't technically a Vanagon, my grown-up summer vacations now make complete sense. Apparently I'm pretending to be toys from my childhood and forcing my family to play along.

See if you can get a Subaru kit and do the engine swap before that waterboxer starts giving you trouble. _________________ 1984 Medium Blue Vanagon Westfalia 2WD w/ rebuilt Auto, Peloquin differential, 3.27 R&P gears, 2002 Subaru 2.5L engine, Girling G60 front brake upgrade, PS, power mirrors

ChuckWagen those are mad skills on that kit!
There is another thread featuring builds of that kit but so far yours is the best I've seen.
Dont forget to post the finished product! _________________ '87 WBWE FAS Gen V |

Epoxy a small speaker magnet to your Hot Wheels Vanagon and it can hold notes and cards to your dash.

You can use the whole Subaru AWD drivetrain and have a Syncro. I have a WRX kit in the bin just for this purpose. Don't cannibalise the Legacy models, they are worth $$ now, especially the rally racecar versions.
There's a dedicated scale plastic model thread already;

Saw these in a local antique shop a few weeks ago. Contact info available if anyone is interested.

The two double cab transporters (the green and light blue) you found in the antique store are not vintage. I've found all of these Matchbox models at Walmart, DollarTree, Big Lots and at O'Reilly's Auto Parts within the last year. Depending upon where you find them they are priced anywhere from $1 up to $5 or $6 for the color changing versions. _________________ '74 Thing

Along with the reproduction metal signs, Chinese tools and other stuff you usually see there, the place is probably best described as a flea mall instead. I just happened to see them and don't go to, or have not seen them in, the other places you listed. That is all. _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic, tragically crushed by a falling hickory tree in my own driveway and now gone, leaving me Vanagonless and with no plans to replace it, alas. |
