Excuse me for not knowing but by owning a vanagon, much less a subi conversion, is new to me. I noticed an exhaust leak this morning and found the culprit. Looks like the catalytic converter has cracked at mount near muffler. First off does this all look stock exhaust system for what would of been for the previous 2.1L? Its a 2.5 subaru conversion. Ultimately, I need to know what catalytic converter to buy.
thanks for your help.

If not stock, it looks designed to fit in the stock location, more or less. The muffler looks like a gowesty unit, but it’s hard to tell.

The cat looks stock to me, so you could buy a regular replacement and be fine most likely.

However, what happened to me was, once I got my cat off, I noticed rust holes in my muffler, then in my (old smallcar conversion) headers. Now my whole exhaust system is new. All this to say, take a close look at each component before you order parts, could save you some downtime.

I recently replaced everything (Y-pipe, cat, muffler) with components from Rock Auto (brand Walker). Not high end performance stuff but it is just an exhaust and a simple enough task if you have new parts, gaskets & bolts.

Mine is a WBX but I agree, what you have looks very like and original Vanagon system.

Mostly stock, but I have never seen vanagon with two O2 sensors in the catalytic converter.

I put in the GoWest stainless steel exhaust, with cat. It looks quite like the one on the pics here. And The cat does have two ports. On mine, one port is not used.

Ditto.. I'm guessing he has an OBD2 subi swap, pre and post cat sensors. He'll have to have an extra bung welded to any Cat he buys.
