I have not visited SAMBA in some time. I am now in the position where I can start to restore my 74 Thing.
Things I must do - New top and new paint. Fix broken trunk cable.
What I'd like to do - replace standard brakes with disc. and purchase new wheels/tires that will work with new brakes.
In a year I'd like to put in a new, larger engine. I'd like to follow that with what I believe is called a "freeway flyer" transmission.
If any of you know what to buy for the new brakes, engine, tranny, please share the info.
If you know of good professionals that can do the work, send their names. I live in the Antelope Valley, Ca. Which is about 60 miles north of Los Angeles, in the high desert.
