Thanks! Why I didn't think of Bergmann, I don't know. It's not one of his full circle cranks w/holes drilled in the counterweights, but will call and ask him tomorrow. Appreciate the input and quick response!

could the case started life as a Mexican ACD engine . they have a hydraulic cam standard and use type 4 lifters .

I've a ACD engine that I use as a spare and want to do a rebuild one day with a better cam /heads etc . and have wondered what the differences are inside to run the hydraulic type 4 lifters .

It’s an AS41 AE code late case. Lifter bores are Definitely oversized (really thin wall, especially for the later case).

What you have sounds cool! Only ever read about the late mod factory hydro engines, have yet to see one.

The engine I picked up, never heard it run nor did guy I bought it from. Split it open to find bearings just showing copper. Everything nice out perfect aside from needing first cut on alignbore = lucky! Even the thrust is perfect STD.

Will freshen it up. Have an engineer friend that has a cam jig to measure mystery parts/cams, so we’ll know soon enuf. As I told last responder, I’ll call Bergmann tmrw to see if it was his. The guy said “it might be a Bergmann” and the entire long block was painted red (w/valve covers off = all over tops of springs & rocker tips = classy!).

I laugh at the Engle cam cards..

The FK-89 is supposed to have .416" lift.

never seen one with more than .400" lift.

Most are .398" out of the box..

I know this is an older thread, but I have a list of camshafts that I can not find any information on, so any help with the lift and duration along with the name that goes along with it would be helpful. Some of these only have a few numbers so it is all the information that I have.

285

340

401

Crane A8

43

20

701

31007

280

32014

280

32014

153

270

V276MB

The next two are Erson VWMT3 but have other numbers and letters under
them

8248 106 683 J
B158 106 78* R

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
