I've never really named my van, but when we camp with my buddy and his 78, which he calls the Green Burrito, I call my van the Tan Taco. _________________ 85 Westy with 91 2.1L |

Here is my 83.5. It was painted in 2013ish. They did a decent job. I wish they pulled the windows but hey grandma gifted it to me in amazing shape.
This photo was sent out in the Asheville Van Life Rally email.

I haven't updated my post to this thread since my pop top conversion years ago. Here it is parked in front of the same brewery (Eddyline - Buena Vista) years later. Long live Savannah Beige!

It is what it is. Tan, Beige, flesh color....not what I would choose but if you want a sub 100k miles doka 2wd, the price was right. It's my dog now and part of the family.
Possibly as I go along I may pick another VW color that's really close but slightly grey leaning and patch by patch, repaint it. For a while it would look a bit digital camo.
I will at least test fit the Porsche heritage 19" Fuchs, they are Hartmann reps so, no I didn't drop 6k on a set of wheels. I kept them when I sold a TT that I bought which happened to have them.. |

The beige just looks better the longer you live with it doesnt it? I'm not sure many newer vehicles would pull it off. _________________ 90' Doka

Nice looking van. Those wheels look so nice!
Nothing finer than shiny beige!
FYI, someone installed your mirrors on the wrong sides of the van. |

I agree. It's not like with a doka you can pic and choose the best color on the lot.
I'm now accustomed to my Timore beige /tan color. Like a yellow dog. You can't judge your dog for his/her fur color. Dog is family.
I think if I'd found a slate blue grey the asking price would have been more, red would louder than I'd prefer. White would be ok, I had a white 77 mk1 rabbit I loved.
Maybe beige is the best color ? |
