Unique numbers on generator pulley

Still not sure what they are for… And it seems all cars didn’t have them..?
Here they are on a low mileage 63:

Another example of a generator pulley with '1-35' odd numbers visible. As found on a 104k km 1962 beetle in very nice original condition.
