Those hired thugs have been bred for this challenge. We've had other pushers on the 'SPVC and friends' team that couldn't hack it. Manny and myself have spent countless hours in the film room refining our team technique and pre-push regimen.

More fun with wear your medal to work week.

I would never survive in the SPVC... This doesn't look like fun at all.

FYI, the south philly VAN club has one day trail memberships that we issue once a year.
and let's not forget all the work that manny "the coach" aka "mannyger" and myself, team owner did to make our team a consistent winner.

You fella's enjoy it while you can. The word is Brian C. and the guys from the Simple Transport show almost put one on you... pushing a BAY WINDOW BUS. Next year, I hear they're bringing a beetle.

I don't know where they got that from, that bus almost slammed into the rear bumper of our beetle after we crossed the finish line ahead of them and our driver hit the brakes, that's a whole car length at the very least, I would not call close at all.
Maybe if they ran their first heat against the North Jersey Club they would've had a chance, cause those guys are pitiful, but the end result against us would've been the same, in any round of competition.

Well, "they" didn't get it from anywhere. I read this post from jhicken, page 12:

"The Old School Euros and a new Maryland club that stepped up at the Dub Push that filled in for you too. These guys rocked [I can't remember their name]. They entered a bus and the South Philly VAN Club, pushing Schwings Oval, barely took the win. So if these guys bring a Beetle next year, they are gonna be a major contender. Somebody let me know their name. Also, the South Philly VAN Club squeeked by again, barely beating the CJVWS team for top honors, but to their credit, they had just ran a heat so they were at a little disadvantage. "

I'm sure there were videos taken of the dub push. Could someone please post one so the losing teams could see their arses get whooped and how the SPVC dominated the event.

Seeing all the buses at the show inspired me to get mine back on the road. Driving , stopping and over at the new place. Surprising the kids after school with it. Hope to have it at Flanders next year.

Here is two photos. One from the start & one at half track. What I saw was the bus got beat by about half a car at the end. The track got considerably narrow at the finish line which is where they almost touched when the bus hit the brakes and slid towards the bug.

Wait.....

They pushed a Beetle and the other team pushed a Bus?

With all the trash talking i would of thought SPVC would of pushed a Panzer tank.

a win is a win, no matter if it's by a bumperette or a car length....and no one made them push a bus.

Agreed....

I guess SPVC shouldn't be penalized for the other teams poor judgement.

This is why we are a successful winning team, a powerhouse if you will, we take no time off, it's work work work 24/7, this was Monday the day after the race, I locked myself in film room and went over some of our field notes I had drawn up for the guys, they literally stuck to our game plan to a T and they did not make one single error. everything went according to plan just as I had drawn it up for them.

Don't believe everything Jeffrey tells you. we cleaned his guy's clock AGAIN this year, who's side do you think he's on?

A week has gone by & I'm still pumped that my '66 Sc made the trip just fine. I'm getting a better handle on the time/miles adjustment, next year I'm going to switch it up & drive straight down on Sat. a.m., now knowing it will be a 7.5 hour trip w/ very little stop & lookie lou time, then head back home thru Ct. later on Sunday, staying in Ct. sunday p.m.

One question I had was: out of town VW folks staying @ a motel that wanted to stop in & chat w/ campers were told they would have to pay $10 just to visit the people camping, that seems a little steep....
