I just got my car back from the shop yesterday, where the carb was rebuilt and new float installed. Drove home fine. The next day ( a hot one, if that matters), I could barely get it home. The car kept missing and acting fuel starved at different speeds. Today, only did it a couple times, then seems O.K. the part that confuses me (although I am easily confused), is that it is not acting up all the time. Any ideas? My engine is a Mexican 1600SP with an electronic ignition and Solex 30PICT1 carb

I know the carb was rebuilt... but it sounds like the vacuum leak I had. Mine was where the carb bolts to the manifold. I had to unscrew it and put on a new gasket. Spray some carb cleaner around it and listen for a change.

Worked for me because mine ran fine at idle: there was no road bumps jostling the carb...

Thanks, Grammarian, I'll give that a try. Mine works fine at idle, too. I'll report back tomorrow, if that ID'd the problem.
