				|
 |
				| picked up this 1969 VW baja local for $140 with title.
has full roll cage, custom seats, interior, dash and a seized up 1835cc engine with dual carbs.

Pulled a valve cover off and was full of milky oil. Was sitting 5 years.

BTW, how do these baja's do in the sand compared to a sand rail?

				| Want to double your money? Those things are no good in the sand at all!
j/k I run mine with 31's with 10 psi in the back and practically 0 psi in the front and mine is practically unstoppable! But I only ride on beaches here on the right coast. No sand dunes.

				| Good find. I never get deals like that around here. It seems everyone in this area thinks their rusted out, non running bug is worth the price of a new dodge hemi truck Ok maybe thats going a bit overboard but not by much | |

				| a baja is pretty heavy compared to a sand rail. a sand rail can do/go so much better than a full body car. unless you have unlimited power. also the open cockpit of a rail is great. no comparison. although i am sure there are many opinions out there. _________________

				| that is the nice thing about a baja, you have an enclosed cockpit, windshield wipers, heat, stereo, and you hear a lot less engine noise. Oh yeah, you can drive it on the street. _________________

I can agree with that Ed, but the baja thing is a different animal than a rail, ands there a lot of stuff that i wouldn't go up or over as compared to some of my buddies rails, but then theres things i will that they wont or cant do that i can, theres pros and cons to each i suppose, But.....???...the best and nice thing is when its about 2am and were all the way down deep in the dunes and its about 45-50 degrees and were making that long run back to camp, i can roll up the windows and crank closed the sunroof and get out the the wheather for the ride back to camp...nice!!

That is a great start for $140 baja...... It probably wont be a $140 baja for long

				| It was a good score! It was Featured in September of 1987 in the HOT VW magizene.
That guy put alot of time and money into it and built it right.

Here's the pictures when it was in the magizene.

				| Its cool to have a magazine car.
My Dodge Dually made it into DB & HVW's in December 2010. It was in one of the real small pictures, in the background at Fast Times at Farmington event. Too bad a DH totaled it for me.
