i think, this is the best version i created until now, together with the break version behind the coupé on the newspaper ad.

about a little bit more than a year ago , i was thinking about the type 34 "razoredge" and it´s possibility to make a conversion into several other versions. maybe you already know them: here they are:
the original one:
then i made a two seater version out of it by shortening the roof:
looks a little bit like an el camino without pick up!
so i decided to give the car the full pick up look:
funny thing about this one was, that i met a guy on an old car meeting with a real type 34 convertible who told me about a real pick up version he had seen on the internet! i had to smile from ear to ear and told him that this was only a fake done by myself! _________________ VW Transporter 2004

Isn't the word supposed to be "brake" rather than "break"? _________________ -Thom

Yes, true; however, the French (Peugeot, Citroen, Renault) refer to a staton wagon / kombi / shooting brake as a "Break."
Probably hasn't helped sales in the English-speaking world much. _________________ David Ruby

To be honest, the first thing that crossed my mind is that "Break" meant a vehicle which was designed for vacations

This is my favorite... I'd drive that in a heartbeat. Biggest problem would be getting clean air into the engine compartment. Yes, you could louver the rear quarters, but that line is such a nice feature that it would be a shame to mess it up. An alternative is air intakes just behind the doors, set into the bulge of the sweep line. Last resort is doing away with the front tin between the engine and trans, and let it draw air from underneath. However, I don't think that would be a good source of fresh air for passenger compartment heating. Perhaps the auxilary Ghia heater should be standard, and plumbed to the existing ductwork with the ducts to the engine compartment sealed. The break version will require more heat anyway.

Nope. Widen the rearmost pillar and louver it. There's the solution for the fresh air. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

Yeah, especially since he seemed like a skilled go-getter. Oh well, running out of time will do that. Little hard to do welding in a parking lot... |

You've never owned a Renault, have you?
And you know why they have a standard heated rear window? To keep your hands comfortable as you push it! _________________ David Ruby

and by the way, i know this little problem with the air intakes.
my favorite is this one i changed (i made a lowered pick up out of a delivery van karmann) from a drawing of pascal meslet from france, a well known designer in the vw scene in europe!

No, but we did have a Fiat that I wish had that feature! I had my spot to push from, just to the right of the license plate. Since I was the younger of the kids, my mom had me push there to keep me away from passing traffic.
