I got a 61 bug with a 1835 dual carb.
This is how i got it
Sold the sand tires got these Wrangler silent armour with kevlar
used her for a little while
This is partial inside
This is my dash and wiring
rear end
Front end
How it sat before i started
I removed the seats carpet most of the tar stuff, cut the cage welds off to remove it and this is what i got
Driver side
Passenger side
rear
shifter front
Cut out the cage
Coverting to irs i bought this tranny and stock boxed arm and jigs
started to remove motor
Got it off
Mounted my other tran fit perfect pic of them together
spring plate
crack in torsion
this was all done yesterday

your 61 pan has a 65 or 66 body _________________ 73 Beetle Baja, Ghia front brakes, Type 3 rear brakes, 2220 ( 94 X 80 ), Weber Progressive, Bosch SVDA, '97 Mustang seats

the size of the windows 61 has smaller windows
my first baja was a 61 pan on a 69 body. |

I'm working on a series of ID tutorials. IDing bodies, pans and transaxles. It will be explained there.
short answer: window size '65 and later
no flap for the gas fill '67 and earlier
can't see the door handle, but it looks like the 66 and earlier style. _________________ 73 Beetle Baja, Ghia front brakes, Type 3 rear brakes, 2220 ( 94 X 80 ), Weber Progressive, Bosch SVDA, '97 Mustang seats

Check for the body number upfront by the master cylinder. There should be plaque there. That's where mines at. _________________ "In case I don't see you, good afternoon , good evening, and goodnight."
