I'm looking for a trustworthy mechanic near Marietta, Ga. I've done some work, but would like someone to go over the car to make sure it's mechanically solid before we hit the road. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Anyone? I have a good mechanic, but he stays busy and my bug is bumped to "when he has time." I suppose I could roll into the dealership.... Very Happy

Contact Tim Baker at Baker Kustoms in Dallas,Ga he is VW aircooled specific repair and fab shop. Contact Steve Sands at Proflow Performance in Dallas, Ga one of the best engine builders in the southeast. Both of these guys are great. I have a couple more but they are fairly busy right now. You can look them both up on Facebook by name or by their business.

Tim Baker of "Baker Customs" did he original have a shop in Marrietta by the name of "Tim's VW". He always had a good reputation.

Gotta give it to Vince at Vintage Wagens. He's in Conyers and his shop only works on air cooled. He put Mr. B together.

Get in touch with Colin Kellogg, the itinerant air cooled mechanic, www.itinerant-air-cooled.com. He comes to you and teaches you. The best investment you can make in your VW is an investment in yourself through a visit with Colin. You may be able to get an off itinerary visit as he is frequently in Atlanta.

Or, Clyde Maddox in Athens. Contact him via Athens VW Club.
