1300cc case - is there a max HP regardless of rebuild kit ?

Honest answer: I don't know.

But maybe you should reverse the question and see how many HP you're trying to get and if the case will be strong enough.

If you go for big HP, you'll need a big case (aluminium)

There’s a lot of great YouTube videos that cover this. It’s not so much HP but the oiling system having a single pressure relief vrs the dual pressure relief. This is a simple explanation. Maybe others can give it better clarity.

Most of the 1300s I saw got turned into 1600s just by using the 85.5 PC. A few went larger. It’s anyones guess as to reliability as it depends on who built the engine and how it is operated and maintained. 1300 was really just a glorified 40hp using a 69mm in place of 64mm crank? I always consult these old manuals written during a time when 1200 and 1300 is all they had. My money is on the easy way out using mostly stock to make it 1600 single port.
