Those days are gone, however.
Enjoy that truck for many many years ahead.

Thanks! Indeed I am enjoying it and will until I can't drive anymore... God forbid THAT ever happens! Shocked

it would be pealing within 3 weeks in detroit.

Again, it's just a rattle can job, even in 6 months it will look a lot better than it was! Very Happy

Yeah, it's been a little while since I posted ANYTHING here, but here's the latest update on the Plump Truck. Rolling Eyes

Many things have happened to the Plump Truck, like I had built a 1700 stroker motor which did quite well for it. However, after building a brand spanking NEW 2276 for the Dormy and the leaky old one from it just sitting there, I decided to install it in the truck. While the 1700 did ok, I really do load up the truck often and figured it could really use a bit more power. Now, you would think an engine swap is just that and it'd be a quick job. Well, it took me 3 full days since the 2276 is a full flowed case and I had no provision to have that in the truck! Some modification just needed to be done and while I was at it also decided to get a new muffler to replace the "ok" one that sounded like a rattle can. Confused

Anyway, here's the 1700 out...

And the dual Dellorto'ed 2276...

Size difference between the mufflers...

As usual, I sliced the old muffler ends and weld them up to the new one. At only $33 for the muffler, it beats the hell out of paying over $100 for an empi! Razz

The dual tail pipe was in my stash of parts for about 20 years! Shocked

I bought 18 cans of International Orange spray paint (on a closeout) at Ace 6 months ago. It is still in a bag in the garage. I am tempted to let fly on the single cab. But then I am really a stockish person. That single cab needs to spend some serious time on a frame machine before anything else. I'll keep thinking about it. While the '67 sits in the back yard the value continues to rise, no matter what I do.
