Sad story.
| Quote: |
MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – The Mesa County Coroner’s Office announced it has completed its investigation into Thursday’s fatal car crash.
The coroner’s office said Grand Junction resident Dario Urrutia, 44, was a single unrestrained occupant of his vehicle when his car and another collided near Interstate 70 Business Loop and 28 Road.
The cause of death is due to injuries sustained in the crash. The manner of death is an accident, according to the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.
The Grand Junction Police Department reported Urrutia was driving a Volkswagen Bug when he struck a pickup truck while it was turning eastbound onto I70B from the frontage road near 28 Road.
The road was closed for several hours as first responders stayed on the scene. The Grand Junction Fire Department also responded to the crash.
GJPD is continuing its investigation into the collision. |

I didn't hear about this when it happened. I go thru that intersection fairly often...once this week. The speed limit on B-70 is about 50 there. |

This is, in my mind, a tragic story of the loss of a beloved Son and Father VW build in Palestine.
