Beautiful critter! Sadly, there's never a good way to know when is the *right* time. Always too soon for us, no matter when, but so hard to judge when it's right for them. Condolences, looks like a well loved family member. _________________ '86 Westy FAS GenV Turbo (Marvin) |

RIP to my Herky (Hercules),
I had him for 13 years and and got him used (salvage title?)so total miles unknown. He was put down last week due to arthritis in his rear section becoming unfair to him. When people would complement the van, I’d tell them it’s just a giant dog stroller/ entertainment device that I was allowed to drive.
Love the ones you have.

My Maddie was the second to last to go of our herd of two dogs and three cats. I was Covid Separated ftom Dr Mrs Abscate for most of Covid working downstate, but she was my constant companion.
It was really tough putting her down st 15 , but the vet told me she was in massive arthritic pain, which she hid really well.
I still miss her. My twins went from 10 to 25 with her.

OMG, she could pull start a Vanagon!
Sucks on the arthritis but I agree with you, we've had to put down a couple dogs due to similar or worse things and I don't want a dog living in pain all the time. _________________ How to Post Photos

I realised that this one hasn't graced this thread, yet. The previous canines were all represented since 2008, even though photobucket prevented their lasting images.
Meet Roja. We rescued her from a puppy mill that was shut down back in 2000. She was a breeder. We think she was about a year old at that time. She loves traveling west with us in the summer, and has adjusted to "life on the outside" very well.
And she loves doing stand-up (lie-down?) comedy.

So very sorry for your recent losses. Especially Annie. Never an easy choice but often the last great favor you can do for a best friend. _________________ '87 Westy Weekender - daily driver on salt-free roads
