Beautiful critter! Sadly, there's never a good way to know when is the *right* time. Always too soon for us, no matter when, but so hard to judge when it's right for them. Condolences, looks like a well loved family member.

OMG, she could pull start a Vanagon!

Sucks on the arthritis but I agree with you, we've had to put down a couple dogs due to similar or worse things and I don't want a dog living in pain all the time.

I realised that this one hasn't graced this thread, yet. The previous canines were all represented since 2008, even though photobucket prevented their lasting images.

Meet Roja. We rescued her from a puppy mill that was shut down back in 2000. She was a breeder. We think she was about a year old at that time. She loves traveling west with us in the summer, and has adjusted to "life on the outside" very well.

And she loves doing stand-up (lie-down?) comedy.

So very sorry for your recent losses. Especially Annie. Never an easy choice but often the last great favor you can do for a best friend.
