Hey BigBlock, nice job! Bring that bad boy down to PunchBuggy at Atco this weekend. There will be money prizes at the races. Up to $1000 in the gamblers race.

If ya don't feel like racing, enter it in the show, we'll find a class for ya.

Hello jeff. Thanks for the invite. Were there every year. Were at Atco weekly and we will be there this Thursday the 22nd for test & tune.

The car lives 6 minutes from the track.

You ought to bring that beast to Atco Punchbuggy and match race an Air-Cooled Bug! I know the promoter and can make it happen! I also know of some fast @ss Turbo Air-Cooled's that will be there!

The car rocks! I don't care what anybody says.

Your money. Your time. Your creation.

I would love to see it rolling down the streets here.

I saw a guy put a V8 in a 240Z and that is a tight fit too but it was so cool.

hello. its kinda cool that the oem front end was still utilized usaly when you see one it would have all american under it. i respect a good running V8. i dont have tunnel vision like some people. the thing is i have loved the ACVW type 1 engine for 30 years and when i beet up on chevs/ fords/ mopars. its such a satisfiying feling i cant explain it i guess its becase i did it with 4 less clyinders its called the true under dog im sure you get the same when you wax people. its obvius that you grew up with the american iron so you have the true love for that engine. im sure that you know that there are ACVW type engines that are running in the 1/4 6s/7s/8s/9s/10s/11s/ with alot less wight than the iron duke. its all about having fun and loving what you do and having respect for one another. deffenetly a cool ride i truly like differerent stuff. have fun with it. and have a good one. jeff d.

Dude.... Hey does that thing even have safety Belts in it let alone a Legal Roll Cage? In short it's a freaking Dragster with a VW Body over it. By the way I think you live near me?

All kidding aside this was a common conversion back-kkkkkkk in the day and I remembered seeing several of them around, it's nice to see that someone saved the car from Wades Scrap yard. Also seen your car at the track, i'll have to check it out better next time your there.

Wade's ? This car has been in our Family since 73'

Were right on the Pike in Berlin. Thanks for the kind words.

No cage, stock Camaro seat belts on the Bug bench seat and that's it.

Sorry thats' the way it was bought back in 73' Not much choice or say in the matter. At least it was SAVED and is still a VW!!

Sorry dude, but that car has not been "saved". However, when you get bored with it, and the next guy finds it rotting away in someones yard, then he puts a stock front clip, pan, dash, etc. back in it....then, it will be saved.

There are purist and then there are those who like VWs. I've been with them since the early '60s and there's not much I haven't done or had part in doing to them. A line can be drawn but,..... where does one draw it? A bug that is extremely modified in body is as much a VW as one modified in power .... and the source thereof. This particular Bug was de-Bugged, so to speak, by the first owner and later put out to pasture. This gentleman saw the Bug and restored it as it was. After all, a true restoration to days long by would have been equally as expensive, if not more so. I give him 3 cheers and a good thumbs up for a job well done. Most would have salvaged the Chevy goodies and really dumped the bug. Sure, a lot of things could have been done different, in the beginning but, a decent Bug still rides the roads. Sort of makes me want to revive Old Yaller, my '67 SQBK on a '75 Bronco 4x4 drive train. To ME, a VW's a VW regardless of what you do to it ..... just keep 'em alive.

Jim in Southeast Alabama, 64 and still can't help but love 'em!

Awsome.....What a beast.

If someone says that you diddn't save it or that it needs to be restored to original condition.....then they need to pull their head out of their ass.

Now, get another bug and make it a baja with a 431. {Then give it to me}

You did a great job with what you had !

It does look very stock sans the hood. Ever try to keep 700 hp quiet? LOL!! It has a full exhaust now with an H pipe and mufflers and it still sounds like the World is ending.

Can't lower it any further, the front ride on air bladders so we cn adjust it for the track.

It's titled as what it is. 1958 Volkswagen Beetle.

It's easy to be street legal in Jersey with QQ Historic plates. this car is 100% street legal.

In that Video it was the old 427 which was right in the 675 hp range, the new engine (Vids coming soon) has 720 plus.
