CB Performance has a system, but expect to pay more than $1k. For a thousand bucks you can probably cobble together your own system, especially if you use Mega Squirt for the brains. Check out the Fuel Injection forums on shop talk forums (www.shoptalkforums.com), tons of info there... _________________ Vintage Classic Specialist, Orange, CA

Good day all,
My name is Malcolm. I live in St. Thomas, USVI. I own a 1974 Baja Bug with a 1600 dual-port very mildly built. I believe I own the only baja bug on St. Thomas! In the past I've owned a few other bugs and two ghias. I love my bug, but am about to upgrade to a better fuel system mainly due to the hills we have to climb here on my daily commute. This is a daily driver. I use the car off-road as well.
I was thinking I would look for some sort of fuel injection system, but Google searches reveal nothing in the way of aftermarket "bolt-on" fuel injection systems. I'm not looking for screaming horsepower, just better than stock, and the ability to climb hills good and also to quit constantly adjusting carbs.
Can any of you point me to any suppliers for bolt-on fuel injection, and is it too much to ask to remain under $1,000 or do I need to increase my budget?
Thanks for a great place to share information,
Malcolm |
