I can play! Even being a beginner.
If the 21 millionth Beetle rolled off the line in 2003, then how is this 1970 a "21 Million Edition?"

Apparently his sportier version has "new tie-rod bearings installed". My VWs don't even have tier-rod bearings !!! _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. New chinese coupler was not large enough to go over the shift rod. I used its bushings in the original coupler. How hard would it be to copy an original one???????
For my 1998 Frontier, the replacement (only one available) protruded 5.5 mm too far into the compressor and wouldn't seal; at least the O-ring channel was in the right place, and I shortened the fitting to match the factory one.
No one in China can compare to an original part side-by-side????????????????
On the other hand: I can't figure out if being a police sketch artist in China is the world's easiest job, or the most difficult !!!!! _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. After a year of ownership and lots of parts thrown at the car, I finally got something that was not perfect.
New 'heavy duty Dansk' muffler from a place in Western Canada (whom I've had zero problems with before tbh.) Could not get the right heater tube attached for the life of me. Fought it and fought it, bending and prying for a good while. Finally got one of the two bolts threaded. The last bolt hole was about 2mm off and I ended up reaming it and putting a regular bolt through with a lock nut. Works fine but what a pain. _________________ Orange 72 Super

The stove pipe for me was a problem, but running the heater hose from the shroud to the heat exchanger was a bigger issue. I *must* have working heat.
Thinking about the installation, it's possible the issue I had w/the exhaust leaks at the #1 & 3 ports *may* have been due to me tightening the muffler to heat exchanger clamps before the #1 & 3 exhaust nuts. But that's just speculation, and the preheat issue was a big deal for my setup.
Hope you have better luck! It is a very nice looking exhaust and the finish seemed excellent.
Oh, and to JBugs' credit - they gave me a full refund RMA for it even though I had opened and installed it. _________________ "Men are qualified for civil liberty in exact proportion to their disposition

Here's a nice looking exhaust "designed" by JBugs. Comes already painted w/a heat resistant coating, not cosmoline or cheap transport rust protective paint, and correctly plumbed for working pre-heat. I *really* wanted the sound promised by its fatter-than-pea-shooter stainless steel tips. You'd think at my advanced age, delayed gratification and trusting your hunches would take over the impulse to buy. Alas, not so.
As usual w/a muffler, everything is left loose during the initial mounting in order to be able to line up all of the ports, pipes and heat risers. That done, I started tightening things down.
- the muffler's pipes for the #2 & #4 ports were far enough out-of-whack that I was unable to re-tighten down the #1 & #3 connections of the heat exchangers flush against the heads, resulting in massive and loud exhaust leaks.
- the nicely built heat riser pipe on the 1-2 side extends straight out toward the front much more than stock before curving right, and prevents re-installing the stove pipe tin for the carb pre-heat.
So...I removed it and yesterday reinstalled the factory style muffler & pea-shooters. Live and learn$.
Can be yours for a steep discount if you have the tools and patience to beat it into shape! |

Brand new Beru coil, purchased from Rock Auto back in June of this year — malfunctioning right out of the box.
Once installed, was experiencing lots of engine misfiring when cold - barely able to hold an idle. Once engine warmed up a bit, started running a little smoother but still experiencing mis-fires, even after fully warmed up.
Swapped back in the old Bosch blue coil (Brazilian) to compare, and it worked flawlessly - engine running completely smoothly w/ no mis-fires when using that one, both cold and warmed-up. Went back and forth between the two a couple times (just to make sure I wasn't missing something, and/or maybe knocked something loose), but got the same results each time -- old Bosch worked fine, but new Beru caused lots of mis-firing & hesitation.
So “caveat emptor” on the new Beru coils, sadly (at least for me)…

I'm rebuilding a FI engine and converting it to carb. I needed to replace the FI breast plate (no heat riser and too many holes), to one with heat riser and 2 fresh air holes. So I bout an aftermarket one and the 2 small tins to cap off the heat risers.
Wheat I got was a breast plate with cutouts for the hear risers but no wrap around to connect the 2 small tins.
Can't they even produce a exact copy of of the sheetmetal, not like it's rocket science
This has the correct parts.

Maybe from years of leaking fuel out of the fuel gauge sender cover, which it's apparently still doing to this day...imagine the smell _________________ My name's Steve and it's pronounced "Bust 'em" (cuz people think I'm Tom)
